Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate immediate response to a cyber event and facilitate the appointment and instruction of relevant vendors to respond to the incident;
  • Report to the claims handler in a timely and concise approach;
  • Critically assess the role of vendors and their proposed work;
  • Provide detailed budgets and exposure on the cyber event;
  • Clearly communicate with the Insured about the incident and provide a calm and expert response;
  • The role will require some out of hours and/or weekend work, depending on the cyber event that is being managed;
  • Support the Head of Claims and Incident Response and underwriters in conducting seminars, broker training and other market facing responsibilities.
Skills and experience required:
Working with a team of motivated and committed individuals, you will possess:
  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in cyber incident response, ideally with some experience as a cyber breach coach within the Insurance industry;
  • Experience in managing vendors such as lawyers, IT forensics, loss adjustors etc.;
  • Excellent technical experience in respect of ransomware attacks and privacy breaches;
  • A good understanding of Australia’s Notifiable Data Breach [NDB] Scheme;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational skills and the ability to organise and coordinate multiple parties to agree to a response plan and then ensure it is followed through.
  • Degree qualified, preferably with a focus on a technical area (computer engineering, computer science, information security, etc.)
  • Industry certifications in cyber security and/or incident response
