Job Description
An exciting opportunity to join a leading specialty insurer as an Assistant Underwriter. The role is office based with the primary focus being to support an established team of underwriters.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain information to underwrite new business and renewals and to assist in the provision of quotations
- Ensure client records are correct and in lines with service standards
- On occasion accompany underwriters to visit brokers
- Career path to underwriter
- As appropriate, provide input to Manager on profit analysis, premium planning, market and environment analysis
Requirements:
- Proven experience within the insurance market and more specifically within Financial Lines (Medical Malpractice or Life Science experience preferred)
- Self motivated with personal drive and ambition
- Resilience
- Strong networking and communication skills
- The ability to build and develop relationships and liaise confidently with clients at all levels
